Meet the Critters Creator

Lisa Howland, Sea-Crits™ creator and owner of Howlandish, LLC.  Gifted with a natural ability to draw characters, backed by a degree in marketing & design from Empire State College and fueled by a strong desire to get away from the snow banks of Upstate New York and closer to warm, sandy beaches of the Atlantic!  Lisa and her husband, Greg, raised four children in a small town located in the Fingerlakes Region of Upstate New York.  During that time they both found the snow to be somewhat enjoyable, but as their children left home to build their own lives, they soon realized that true happiness was found near salt water, seashells and sandy beaches.

Sea-Crits™ characters came from the imagination of Lisa, who brought them to life by hand drawing each critter one by one.  Lisa considers each Sea-Crits™ to be a characteristic of herself and the Howland’s love for the ocean.  Today the Howland’s still live in Upstate New York; However, they have decided that if they cannot get to the beach, then they will bring the spirit of the beach to Upstate New York through their Sea-Crits™ journey!
